will help companies to ensure a more efficient management of chemicals and to substitute hazardous substances

The project helped "Naujoji Ringuva" to upgrade several product lines

ringuva_crop_0.jpgOne of the leading producers of cleaning detergents in Lithuania – "Naujoji Ringuva" - participates in the project “LIFE Fit for REACH”. High quality and environmental standards are important for a company that manufactures laundry, cleaning and body and hair care products, and thanks to the expert and financial support of the project, some products have been upgraded to even more friendly for people and the environment.

"Naujoji Ringuva" sought high quality results from the very beginning. The mission of the company is to develop and maintain a close relationship with the users of the products by providing them with accurate and complete information about the products they produce.

The “LIFE Fit for REACH” project has provided financial and expert support and the opportunity to test and deploy alternative, safer chemicals.

“The financial support provided has allowed for further research of a broader range of components, and the selection of materials that are best for both ecological and financially beneficial production. We can now be pleased that even more of our products are environmentally and humanly friendly and certified according to international EU Eco-label standards. We promise not to stop and continue to move forward”, said Rugile Stonyte, Head of technology and quality control department.

It is great news that during the project the company has renewed the child care line “Tindi”. The aim was to create even more friendly products for our little ones. The preservatives very often used in hygiene products were abandoned: Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) and Methyl Chlorisothiazolinone (CMIT), which are now believed to have allergenic properties. Sodium lauret sulfate, a surfactant, has also been replaced by a more friendly alternative.

Well-known and popular “Balance” detergent and dishwashing detergent was also modified – some surfactants and preservatives were eliminated. According to the calculations made, these changes helped to improve the composition of environmentally friendly products.

“LIFE Fit for REACH” has provided financial support for specialized research, which has enabled the company to accelerate the process of updating all of these products. Following a responsible corporate policy, "Naujoji Ringuva" will continue to make changes to produce environmentally and human-friendly products, that are a big part of our everyday lives.
