will help companies to ensure a more efficient management of chemicals and to substitute hazardous substances

External evaluator of the LIFE FitforREACH-2 project visited partners

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the external evaluator of the LIFE FitforREACH-2 project, Luule Sinnisov. The two-day visit in Estonia provided a great opportunity to present the work done so far, discuss challenges, and share future plans.

On the first day, we met at the Baltic Environmental Forum Estonia office in Tallinn, where we reviewed the project’s progress with partner companies and discussed the development of tools, including handbooks.

On the second day, we headed to Pärnu, where project partner Scanfil OÜ welcomed us. We received an in-depth overview of the group’s and factory’s operations and heard about their experiences in implementing the project – including challenges that have been successfully tackled together.

Scanfil has already taken significant steps to make production processes safer and more efficient: the company has acquired an industrial washing machine, updated its chemical management system, and is testing a robotic soldering machine.

The project has now reached its halfway point. The first results are already visible, and the experiences of our partners confirm that we are on the right track. Our goal is to ensure that chemical risk management in companies becomes even more systematic and effective.
