will help companies to ensure a more efficient management of chemicals and to substitute hazardous substances

Informing SMEs in the Baltic States

Around 300 representatives – environmental experts, chemists, technical specialists etc. – from the different type and size companies in the Baltics are now informed about the possibilities to substitute hazardous substances they are using in their daily work.

Seven info days were held in Kaunas, Klaipeda, Vilnius, Riga, Jelgava, and Tallinn informing the participants not only about  the project Life Fit for REACH, but also about REACH and CLP requirements and implementation presented by the representatives from the responsible authorities. Safety data sheets, registration, authorization and the newest developments of the REACH regulation were also hot topics for the companies.

The info days were organized in cooperation with national REACH helpdesks and other responsible authorities. One of the project pilot companies Henkel Makroflex also participated and encouraged other Estonian companies to use the help offered by the project in order to improve the quality of their products.

Info days will be organised again in autumn, when even more enterprises will get to know how they can get fitter for REACH with the assistance of the project.
