A new comprehensive guide "How to use EMAS for improved chemicals management: A Guide" has been published, offering businesses a systemic roadmap to align their environmental management with the highest standards of chemical safety and transparency.
A new Classification and Labelling Table has been developed to provide a clear, structured, and easy to use overview of chemical hazard classification and labelling requirements. The table has been prepared according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and its current amendments.
To map the current situation, interviews were conducted with selected waste management companies. Waste operators were asked to reflect on their understanding, awareness and compliance with chemicals related legal requirements, management practices in identifying hazardous substances, access to laboratory analysis and the use of testing in practice and control measures applied to waste streams and secondary materials, as well as companies’ needs and challenges related to identifying hazardous substances.
The comprehensive "Chemicals risk management handbook for formulators" developed as part of the LIFE FitForREACH-2 project, is now also available in Estonian.
